About Us

High SocieTea House was created by three friends who share a lifelong love of tea. We wanted to create an atmosphere where our guests could enter and go back in time to enjoy a truly unique experience. We wanted a place to explore the lost art of human relationships while enjoying the perfect pot of tea. Our tier plates are decorated with fresh flowers. Our tea menu consists of over forty different types of teas are showcased.

Our guest are given their own pot of tea in a lovelyhand made cozy. This allows the last cup of tea to taste as delicious as the first cup. The food menu is somewhat limited, offering scones, tea breads, soups, salads, savories, miniature sweets and plated desserts.Everything is made fresh in our kitchen. When your meal is served, it is as pleasing to the palette as it is to the eye. Located at 20 Old Newark Pompton Turnpike, this is in the historic section of Wayne Township. The house is listed with the Historical Society as the first official post office, which at the time was the Ryerson – DeMott General Store, dating back to 1895. Reservations are not required; however we do encourage them. This way a table will be waiting for you. During your visit you will be able to wander thru our lovely gift shop. We offer you an eclectic assortment of tea related items along with loose teas.Much of our success is due to our wonderful customers to whom we are truly grateful. We look forward to serving you the perfect pot of tea and thank you for visiting our web site!
